From her research, Dr. McCoy learned that the average Bhutanese salary is only $1,150 a year; yet, these people considered themselves to be the happiest people on earth.
In Bhutan, the government is more concerned with the well being of its people than with the Gross National Product. There are 9 topics of evaulation, here are 5: good governance, health, education, environment, and living standard. The citizens are evaluated every two years to learn whether they’re happy, very happy or not happy. In fact, the Bhutanese have a happiness map in this book.
